My fling with sans-serif fonts turned out to be short-lived. PE’s new design makes heavy use of my favorite serif typeface for the web, Georgia, a font that also has a lot of special meaning to me personally.
I am not a great designer. Not even a good designer. But I like to think I’ve developed a sense for what’s not needed. And I’ve gotten better at acting on that sense.
Generally, this redesign was about subtraction.
I’ve also redesigned my approach to writing here. Going forward, posting will probably be more erratic and less routine. I feel as though I’ve reached a tipping point here. I’m also deploying some of the dividends I’ve been paid here in other pursuits.
More on that later. Hopefully.

Yes!
Looks great. I agree with everything except the lack of the greatest hits list. I got to one article via an omnifocus search, read more from that list and then kept coming back.
Thanks. “Greatest hits” lists are tricky. I’ve found that posts that fall into that category seem to take care of themselves. The reality is that no matter what or how much I write here, probably 50% or more of my daily traffic comes from a handful of posts that Google likes. So in effect, Google maintains a “greatest hits” list for me.
Well your writing style certainly inspires me to write more on our common topic. Short and to the point.
If I continiue striving for large articles with a lot of takeaways I won’t be writing as much. And currently being at the level of 1 article per week, is certainly not good enough for a blogger…
