I’ve not had great success finding non-Apple USB ports that supply enough power to charge my iPhone and iPad. Until recently.
The PowerCurve Mobile Surge Protector works really well. As far as I can tell, it charges my iPhone and iPad just as fast as the wall charger that Apple ships with new iOS devices.
The PowerCurve is very compact. It’ll fit in any travel bag. I even keep one plugged in behind my night stand so that I can easily charge my iPhone and iPad in the same spot.
At $20, it’s cheaper (and more practical) than loading up on Apple wall chargers.
The number of iOS devices in my extended family has grown geometrically in the last year. There’s no such thing as too many USB ports.

I’ve found the Apple iPad charging kit to be their better value. For $29US you get the 10 Watt wall charger, an extension cord and a sync cable, all for the same price as the smaller 5 Watt charger alone.
Do you know any good car charger for MacBook Air?
Thanks for the review. I’ve been looking for something similar. The Belkin “Mini” 3-outlet/2-USB travel dingus that many of us have does not have the power to properly charge the iPad, let alone both the iPad and iPhone, simultaneously.
I’ve looked everywhere on the 360-Electrical website, as well as Amazon and review sites: nowhere does anyone report the number of watts provided to the USB ports. Does the box or the device itself report that?
Unfortunately the packaging doesn’t indicate wattage either. However, the packaging does explicitly say that it’s compatible with iOS devices, so I have no qualms using it. I’ve been really happy with it. I own 3.
